AT A GLANCE
Lodged online. Decided in Australia.
The checklist, the timeline and the channel — the whole application on one ledger, before you upload a single page.
VISA ASSISTANCE DESK · AUSTRALIA
Prepared here. Lodged online. Tracked to the decision.
The Visitor visa (subclass 600) is lodged entirely online through ImmiAccount, and decided by Australia's Department of Home Affairs. Our desk prepares your file, checks every page against the official checklist, files the application with you and tracks it until the decision lands.
If Home Affairs asks for more — health examinations, further documents or, rarely, a biometrics appointment — we handle the response and the bookings. Westin Travel is an independent travel agency; we are not affiliated with any embassy, consulate or government department.

Documents you'll need.
Home Affairs reads your file cold — identity, funds, travel plans and your reasons to come home. This checklist is what goes in it.
There is no counter to argue your case at. A case officer sees only what you upload, and may decide the application on exactly that — without asking for the page you forgot. Most refusals trace back to the genuine-visitor test: thin evidence of ties to India, funds that appear from nowhere, or a story the documents don't quite tell.
That's the part our desk carries. Bring the items in this checklist and we weigh each one before anything is lodged — colour scans, English translations, multi-page documents saved as one file, and the ties evidence a Hyderabad applicant is actually judged on.
CHECKLIST · SUBCLASS 600 TOURIST STREAM
- Current passport — colour scan of the pages showing your photo, personal details and issue and expiry dates (get any new passport before applying)
- National identity card, if you hold one
- Proof of any change of name — a marriage or divorce certificate, for example
- Genuine-visitor evidence: your travel plans and itinerary in Australia
- If visiting family or friends: an invitation letter from your host stating the relationship, purpose and length of the visit, and whether you will stay with them — plus proof of the host's funds if they are paying
- Evidence of ties to India: an employer letter confirming leave and that your job is held, proof of school or university enrolment, proof of immediate family in India, property or other major assets
- Financial evidence — see the profiles below
- Character documents where they apply: military service record or discharge papers; a police clearance certificate only if Home Affairs asks
- For applicants under 18: birth certificate naming both parents, Form 1229 consent (or a statutory declaration) from any non-travelling parent or guardian with their signed photo ID, and Form 1257 if the child will stay with someone other than a relative or guardian
- English translations of all non-English documents — every scan in colour, multi-page documents saved as one file
No passport submission. The visa is linked to your passport digitally — there is no label, no courier and nothing held while you wait.

HOW IT WORKS
Three steps from first scan to decision.
Build the file
Check your passport first — renew it before applying if it's due — then gather identity, funds, travel plans and your ties to Hyderabad, with English translations and colour scans. Send it all on WhatsApp or bring it to the Nanakramguda desk; we confirm your exact checklist the same day.
Lodge online & pay
We set up ImmiAccount and complete the subclass 600 Tourist stream application with you — each traveller, including each child, lodges a separate application, though a family can submit theirs together. Documents attached, and the government's visa charge paid online in ImmiAccount by card or PayPal. Processing does not start until the charge is paid.
Tracked to the decision
No VFS visit, biometrics appointment or interview is normally required for Indian applicants — half of cases are decided within 13 days, nine in ten within 35. We watch ImmiAccount and respond promptly if Home Affairs asks for health examinations or more documents. If approved, the grant letter arrives by email with your visa grant number and conditions; stay outside Australia until it's decided, and hold non-refundable bookings until then. Your status is checkable on VEVO anytime.

- Requests handled — if Home Affairs asks for health examinations, further documents or a biometrics appointment, we manage the response and the bookings

FAQ
Asked at the desk.
The six questions Hyderabad applicants bring us most — answered straight.
Is the Australia tourist visa really lodged 100% online from Hyderabad?
Yes. The Visitor visa (subclass 600) Tourist stream is lodged entirely online through ImmiAccount — there is no consulate queue, and your passport is never submitted. The visa is linked to your passport digitally, so there is no label, no courier and nothing held while you wait. Each traveller, including each child, lodges a separate application, though a family can submit theirs together.
How long does the Australia visitor visa take for Indian applicants?
Home Affairs' official processing-time tool (mid-2026) shows half of Tourist stream applications decided within 13 days and 90% within 35 days. There is no appointment or interview queue for Indian applicants since everything is online. Allow 4–8 weeks before your travel date to be safe, and longer during the November–January peak.
Do I have to visit VFS in Hyderabad or give fingerprints for an Australian tourist visa?
Normally, no — this is a common misconception. The application is lodged entirely online through ImmiAccount, and India is not currently part of Australia's biometrics program (the Australian High Commission lists only Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal in this region). Home Affairs can still request biometrics case by case; only attend a collection centre if you receive an official request letter.
How long can I stay in Australia on a subclass 600 tourist visa?
Most tourists are granted a 3-month stay, with the visa often valid for 12 months with multiple entries — but Home Affairs decides the stay period, validity and number of entries case by case, and may grant less than you asked for. Stays of up to 12 months are possible, mainly for parents visiting children settled in Australia. The visa cannot be extended; staying longer means applying for a new visa from inside Australia.
Do I need confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings before applying for an Australian visa?
No. Home Affairs asks for your travel plans, not paid bookings, and officially warns you not to arrange travel until the visa is granted in writing. An itinerary, a host's invitation letter, or tentative plans are enough at application stage. Book refundable options if you must reserve anything early.
How much bank balance is needed for an Australia tourist visa from India?
There is no published minimum balance. Home Affairs asks for proof you can fund your whole stay and your return travel — its own checklist suggests itemised bank statements for a 3-month period, plus payslips, ITRs, term deposits or credit card statements. Steady, genuine savings read far better than a large sum deposited just before applying. If your relative or friend in Australia is paying, include their letter and proof of their funds.
