SCHENGEN VISA ASSISTANCE · HYDERABAD DESK
Apply for your Schengen visa with expert assistance in Hyderabad.
Documentation, appointments and end-to-end tracking for the 29-country Schengen area — one desk, one number, no guesswork.
AT A GLANCE
Twenty-nine countries. One careful file.
Timeline, centre, consulate and the stay rules — the facts that shape a Schengen application, set out before you gather a single page.
VISA ASSISTANCE DESK · SCHENGEN (EUROPE)
Prepared, checked and filed — end to end.
There is no single European portal. Your application goes to the consulate of your main destination — the country where you will spend the most nights — lodged through the VFS Global Joint Schengen centre in Banjara Hills (BLS International for Spain). Westin Travel builds your file against that country's checklist, completes the forms, books the appointment and tracks the application until your passport is back in your hand.
Westin Travel is an independent travel agency — not affiliated with any embassy, consulate or government. The decision on every visa rests with the consulate alone.

Documents you'll need.
Nine items anchor every Schengen tourist file. Gather these, and our desk checks each one against your destination country's own list.
A Schengen file is read line by line at the consulate — and most refusals begin with a page, not a person: insurance that falls short of the Schengen minimum cover, a photo that misses the 35 × 45 mm spec, a cover letter that never says who is paying for the trip.
That reading is our job before it is theirs. Bring the documents in this checklist and we build the file to your destination country's requirements — including the online forms where a country insists on them, such as France-Visas or Germany's VIDEX — so nothing reaches the counter unchecked.
MANDATORY · ALL APPLICANTS
- Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months beyond your planned return, with at least 2 blank pages — carry old passports showing prior visas
- Completed and signed Schengen visa application form — many countries require the online version, such as France-Visas or Germany's VIDEX
- Two recent 35 × 45 mm colour photographs, white background, ICAO/Schengen spec
- Travel medical insurance meeting the Schengen minimum cover for medical emergencies and repatriation, valid across the entire Schengen area for the full trip
- Round-trip flight reservation or itinerary — a reservation, not necessarily a paid ticket
- Proof of accommodation for every night — hotel bookings, tour confirmation, or an invitation letter from a host
- Cover letter explaining the trip purpose, itinerary and who is paying
- Proof of ties to India — employer letter or NOC with leave sanctioned, business registration or GST for the self-employed, or a bona fide letter for students
- Fee payment in INR at the application centre
Your passport travels with the file. It is submitted with the application and comes back with the decision — collected at the centre or delivered by courier. Plan around being without it while the consulate works.
FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS
Financial documents, by profile.
Consulates read the money pages first. Find your profile below — that's the set we'll ask you to bring.
Salaried
- Personal bank statements for the last 3 months minimum — several consulates (and most agents) recommend 6 — stamped or e-statements with a healthy, consistent balance
- Salary slips for the last 3 months
- Income Tax Returns / ITR-V or Form 16 for the last 2–3 assessment years
Self-employed
- Company bank statements alongside your personal statements
- Business registration and GST returns
- Income Tax Returns / ITR-V for the last 2–3 assessment years
Retired & other profiles
Personal bank statements (3 months minimum, 6 safer) and ITRs for recent years still anchor the file.
- The exact set for pension or other income is confirmed at the desk, against your destination country's checklist
Sponsored by family or a host
- Sponsor's letter stating who is paying and why
- Sponsor's bank statements and ITR
- Proof of your relationship to the sponsor
- Some countries require a formal sponsorship form — Germany's Verpflichtungserklärung, France's attestation d'accueil
How much money is enough?
Required funds vary by country — each Schengen state publishes a per-day reference amount, and the consulate reads your balance against your itinerary.
- Show a consistent balance across the full statement period, not a number engineered for the application
- Large unexplained recent deposits are a red flag — build the balance genuinely
HOW IT WORKS
Three stages between you and the sticker.
Build the file
We fix your main destination first — the country where you'll spend the most nights, or the first entry if stays are equal — because that country's consulate must decide your visa. Then we gather your documents against its checklist, complete the application form (online portals such as France-Visas or VIDEX where required) and arrange Schengen-compliant travel medical insurance.
Appointment & biometrics
We book your slot at the VFS Global Joint Schengen centre in Banjara Hills (BLS International if Spain is your main destination) — ideally 4–8 weeks before travel, and up to 6 months ahead. You attend in person: documents in, 10 fingerprints and a photo captured, fees paid in INR. Both centres are cashless, so carry a card. Fingerprints stay valid in the system for 59 months, and children under 12 are exempt.
Decision & passport back
Your file travels to the consulate holding jurisdiction — commonly Mumbai, Chennai or New Delhi — which normally decides within 15 calendar days, extendable to 45 if extra checks are needed. We track it online, and when the passport returns we check the sticker's dates, entries and duration with you before you book final travel.
WHY WESTIN
One desk between you and 29 countries.
Any agency can print a checklist. Ours reads your file the way a consulate will — and stays on it until the passport is back in your hand.
- Documentation expertise — your file built against your destination country's own checklist: the main-destination rule, the insurance spec, the cover letter, the money pages
- Appointment handling — slots booked on the official VFS/BLS calendars, timed 4–8 weeks ahead of travel so peak-season queues don't derail the trip; appointments are free, and anyone selling them is a red flag
- End-to-end tracking — followed online from biometrics day to passport return, with an update from us at every stage
- One desk, one number — the same Nanakramguda (Khajaguda) team from first checklist to final sticker check
PLEASE NOTE
- Westin Travel is an independent travel agency — not an embassy, consulate or government body, and not part of VFS Global or BLS International.
- Visa approval is at the sole discretion of Schengen (Europe) authorities. No agent can influence or speed up the decision.
- Processing timelines may vary, particularly in peak season.
- A Schengen visa does not guarantee entry. Border officers make the final decision and may ask for your return ticket, insurance, funds and accommodation proof — and with the EU's new Entry/Exit System, arrivals are registered biometrically and the 90/180-day stay limit is tracked digitally.
FAQ
Asked across the desk.
The six questions every Schengen applicant in Hyderabad asks — documents, timelines, appointments and the rules that decide a file.
What happens at the VFS appointment in Hyderabad?
You attend in person at the VFS Global Joint Schengen centre in Banjara Hills — BLS International if Spain is your main destination. Documents go in, 10 fingerprints and a photo are captured, and the official fees are paid in INR at the centre; both centres are cashless, so carry a card. Fingerprints stay valid in the system for 59 months, and children under 12 are exempt. Your passport is submitted with the file and comes back with the decision — collected at the centre or delivered by courier.
How long does a Schengen visa take after the VFS appointment in Hyderabad?
The official standard is 15 calendar days from the day your file reaches the consulate, and it can legally stretch to 45 days if extra checks are needed. Many countries return Hyderabad tourist files in about a week outside peak season. The bigger delay is often getting the VFS appointment itself in the March-June rush, so book 4-8 weeks before travel.
Can I apply through the 'easiest' Schengen country and then travel elsewhere in Europe?
No — this is a common misconception that leads to refusals. You must apply to the country of your main destination, meaning where you will spend the most nights (or the first country of entry if stays are equal). Consulates check your bookings against this rule, and a visa obtained by misrepresenting your itinerary can be refused, revoked, or hurt future applications.
Is there a Schengen visa application centre in Hyderabad, or do I have to travel to Chennai or Mumbai?
You can apply in Hyderabad. The VFS Global Joint Schengen Visa Application Centre at Mubarak Manzil — Erramanzil, Resham Bagh, Banjara Hills accepts applications for most Schengen countries, and Spain applications go to the BLS International centre in Hyderabad. A small number of Schengen states use other providers — for example Greece via GVCW — and the correct centre for your destination is confirmed at the desk. Only the decision is made at the consulate (often Mumbai, Chennai or Delhi) — you do not need to travel there yourself.
How much bank balance do I need for a Schengen tourist visa from India?
There is no single magic number — each country publishes a per-day reference amount, and consulates look at whether your balance and income history realistically support your trip. Submit at least 3 months of bank statements (6 is safer) plus ITRs, and avoid sudden large deposits just before applying, which are treated as a red flag. As a rough rule, agents suggest showing comfortable funds for the whole trip after covering flights and hotels.
Can Indians get a 5-year multiple-entry Schengen visa?
Yes, under the EU's special cascade rules for Indian nationals in force since 18 April 2024. If you obtained and lawfully used two Schengen visas within the previous three years, you can be issued a 2-year multiple-entry visa, normally followed by a 5-year one — subject to your passport's validity. Even with a 5-year visa, you can only stay 90 days in any 180-day period.
