AT A GLANCE

A ten-year visa. One filing desk.

The wait, the two appointments, the validity and where our desk sits — the whole application on one ledger, before you fill in a single field.

VISA ASSISTANCE DESK · UNITED STATES

One file, prepared and tracked end-to-end.

The United States runs its visitor-visa process entirely through its own channel — the DS-160 at ceac.state.gov, fee and appointments on ustraveldocs.com, biometrics at the Visa Application Center in Madhapur, the interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Nanakramguda. No VFS, no BLS.

Our desk prepares, checks and files that application for you: the DS-160 completed line by line, the profile and fee handled, both appointments booked, and the file tracked until your passport is back. Westin Travel is an independent travel agency — not affiliated with any embassy, consulate or government.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS

The file you carry to the window.

A US visitor application is decided mostly on the DS-160 and a few minutes at the interview window — but the folder still has to be complete on the day.

The DS-160 is the real application. Every answer on it — down to the social-media identifiers and the travel-history questions — is on record, and the officer's questions at the window are checked against it. A folder full of statements cannot rescue a form filled in carelessly.

That is where our desk earns its keep: the form completed with you line by line, the confirmation pages printed, the folder ordered so that the one document the officer asks for is never the one left at home.

MANDATORY · ALL APPLICANTS

  • Passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay, with at least one blank page — carry all old passports and any previous US visas
  • DS-160 confirmation page with barcode — the form is completed online at ceac.state.gov, including social-media identifiers and travel history
  • Appointment confirmation letters for the VAC and the consulate
  • MRV fee payment receipt (ustraveldocs)
  • One recent 5 cm × 5 cm white-background photograph as backup — the photo is primarily uploaded digitally in the DS-160
  • Evidence of trip purpose: a tentative itinerary, and an invitation letter if visiting family — do not buy non-refundable tickets before approval
  • Evidence of ties to India: employer letter or approved leave, business registration if self-employed, property documents, family ties

Officers often never open the folder. The decision rests mainly on the DS-160 and the interview — carry everything anyway, because the paper that is requested is the one that cannot be missing.

FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS

Financial documents, by profile.

The consulate publishes no fixed financial checklist — the decision rests mainly on the DS-160 and the interview. Carry the set for your profile below in case it is requested.

Salaried
  • Recent payslips — about 3 months
  • Bank statements for the last 3–6 months (savings/current)
  • Income Tax Returns or Form 16 for the last 2–3 years
Self-employed
  • Business financials or GST returns
  • Bank statements for the last 3–6 months (savings/current)
  • Income Tax Returns for the last 2–3 years
Retired

The consulate sets no separate retiree checklist — the same core papers carry the file:

  • Bank statements for the last 3–6 months
  • Income Tax Returns or Form 16 for the last 2–3 years
  • Optional strength: fixed deposits, mutual funds, property papers
Sponsored by a child or relative in the US

Common for visiting parents. Alongside your own papers, carry:

  • Sponsor's invitation letter
  • Proof of the sponsor's US status
  • Sponsor's bank statements, pay stubs or tax returns
  • Form I-134 — optional for B visas

A sponsor funds the trip; they cannot answer the ties question for you. You must still demonstrate your own ties to India.

Optional strength — any profile
  • Fixed deposits
  • Mutual funds
  • Property papers

HOW IT WORKS

Three stages between you and the interview window.

DS-160 and fee

We complete the DS-160 with you at ceac.state.gov — Hyderabad selected as your interview post, photo uploaded, confirmation page printed — then set up your ustraveldocs.com profile and pay the visa application (MRV) fee on ustraveldocs.com. The receipt stays valid for a full year of booking.

Two appointments, booked together

Biometrics at the Visa Application Center, HITEC City Metro Station, Madhapur — usually at least a day before the interview — then the interview itself at the U.S. Consulate General, Nanakramguda. First-time B1/B2 slots can run many months out, so we book the moment your file is ready and brief you for the short, typically 2–5 minute conversation at the window.

Interview to passport

Answer consistently with your DS-160 — trip purpose, funding, job, family, ties to India. If approved, your passport with the visa comes back in about 3–7 working days via VAC pickup or courier — tracked by our desk until it is in your hands.

WHY WESTIN

Method, not promises.

No agency can influence a US visa decision — and a promise of guaranteed approval is a red flag wherever you hear it. What a good desk brings is method: a file with no weak page, appointments watched, nothing left to chance.

  • Documentation expertise — the DS-160 completed line by line with you and checked against your papers, so the interview never contradicts the form
  • Appointment handling — profile, fee payment, VAC and consulate bookings managed from one desk, with live wait times checked before you commit to dates
  • End-to-end tracking — from the first form to passport pickup, with updates at every stage
  • One desk, one number — the same Nanakramguda team from your first call until the passport is back in your hands

PLEASE NOTE

  • Westin Travel is an independent travel agency — not the US Embassy or Consulate, and not affiliated with any government.
  • Visa approval is at the sole discretion of United States authorities. No agent can influence or speed up the decision.
  • Timelines vary — interview waits in Hyderabad have swung sharply over 2025–26. Verify the live wait before fixing travel dates.
  • A visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. The officer at the port of entry makes the final admission decision and sets the permitted stay.

FAQ

Asked at this desk every week.

The steps, the waits, dropbox and the ten-year myth — answered straight, from the current rules.

What are the steps to apply for a US visitor visa from Hyderabad?

Three stages. First, the DS-160 is completed at ceac.state.gov and the visa application (MRV) fee is paid on ustraveldocs.com — there is no VFS or BLS involved. Second, two appointments are booked together: biometrics at the Visa Application Center at HITEC City Metro Station, Madhapur, then the interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Nanakramguda. Third, if approved, the passport comes back in about 3-7 working days via VAC pickup or courier.

How long does it take to get a US visitor visa in Hyderabad?

The processing after the interview is quick — the passport usually comes back in about 3-7 working days. The real wait is for the interview appointment itself: as of mid-2026, first-time B1/B2 interview slots in Hyderabad were running roughly 10 months out, after being as short as 4-5 months in late 2025. Check the live wait-time tool on travel.state.gov and book as early as possible.

If I get a 10-year US visa, can I stay in America for 10 years?

No — this is a common misunderstanding. The 10-year validity only means you can travel to the US during that period; the immigration officer at the airport decides each stay, normally up to 6 months per visit. Overstaying can cancel the visa and bar future travel.

Where do I give biometrics for the US visa in Hyderabad?

Fingerprints and photo are taken at the U.S. Visa Application Center at the Lower Concourse, HITEC City Metro Station, Madhapur — usually at least a day before your interview. The interview itself is at the U.S. Consulate General in Nanakramguda, Financial District (it moved there from Paigah Palace in 2023).

Can I renew my US visitor visa from Hyderabad without an interview (dropbox)?

Only in limited cases since September 2025: your previous B1/B2 must have been full-validity and expired within the last 12 months, you must have been 18 or older when it was issued, you must apply in India in the same category, and you must have no visa refusals. Even then, the consulate can still call you for an interview. Everyone else, including children and senior citizens, now needs an in-person interview.

What documents do I need for the US B1/B2 visa interview in Hyderabad?

You must carry your passport (plus old passports), the DS-160 confirmation page, the appointment letter and the fee receipt. Also carry supporting papers — bank statements, ITRs, employment proof, and any invitation letter — though officers decide mainly from the interview and often do not ask for them. Answer questions consistently with what you entered in the DS-160.
