HOLIDAY PACKAGE · HYD → MLE
Maldives holiday packages from Hyderabad.
Turquoise lagoons, a villa on stilts and a reef at the bottom of the steps — the Maldives is the shortest long-haul-feeling escape from Hyderabad.
AT A GLANCE
The trip, on one ledger.
The north-east monsoon brings the dry season: low rainfall, light winds, calm seas and the clearest water for snorkelling. February and March are the driest months. May to October is wetter and windier, though manta-ray season in Baa Atoll peaks between July and October, so a monsoon visit has its own reward.
WHAT THE DESK ARRANGES
Flights, stays, transfers and paperwork — one booking.
The Maldives sits a little over two hours' flying south-west of Hyderabad, across 26 atolls of coral islands scattered over the Indian Ocean. Indian passport holders arrive with no visa paperwork beyond a short online declaration, and the half-hour time difference means no jet lag on a four- or five-night stay.
Most of the holiday happens on one island: an overwater or beach villa, a house reef to snorkel from the deck, and excursions by dhoni or speedboat. Our desk matches the island, transfer type and board plan to how you like to travel, then handles flights, declaration reminders and transfer timings.

4–5 nights, day by day.
A starting point, not a fixed route — every departure is reshaped around your dates, pace and travellers before anything is booked.
- DAY 1
Hyderabad to Malé, onward to your island
Land at Velana International Airport, clear the visa-on-arrival counter and meet the resort representative. Continue by speedboat to a nearby atoll, or by seaplane over the lagoons if arriving before mid-afternoon. Settle into your villa in time for sunset.
- DAY 2
Overwater villa and the house reef
Wake to open water beneath the deck. Snorkel the house reef straight from your steps, then take a late-afternoon sunset cruise on a traditional dhoni, when spinner dolphins are most often seen leaping alongside the boat.
- DAY 3
Snorkelling excursion
Join a guided reef or sandbank excursion by speedboat. Between roughly June and November in Baa Atoll, this is the day for Hanifaru Bay, a protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where manta rays gather to feed and guided snorkelling sessions are strictly limited.
- DAY 4
Spa, sandbank and an underwater dinner
A slow morning: a couples' or family spa session, a picnic on a sandbank, or a glass-bottom kayak across the lagoon. In the evening, dine several metres below the surface at an underwater restaurant as reef fish drift past the glass.
- DAY 5
Malé half-day and flight home
Transfer back to Malé and, if the flight allows, walk the capital: the seventeenth-century coral-stone Old Friday Mosque, the fish market, Sultan Park and the Islamic Centre. Fly back to Hyderabad, arriving the same evening.

Getting in. Indian passport holders receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival with a passport valid for at least one month, a confirmed return ticket and a prepaid booking at a registered resort or guesthouse, and every traveller, including children, must submit the free Imuga Traveller Declaration online within 96 hours before the flight — our desk sends the reminder, checks your documents and completes the declaration with you before departure.
GOOD TO KNOW
Before you pack.
- Resort transfers are by speedboat, seaplane or domestic flight, assigned by the resort rather than chosen freely; seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a late-afternoon or evening arrival at Malé means a speedboat resort or an overnight near the airport.
- The Maldives levies a per-person, per-night green tax on all tourist accommodation, collected through the resort or guesthouse bill; we confirm whether it is included in your quote.
- Alcohol is served only on licensed resort islands and liveaboards; it is illegal to carry it onto local inhabited islands or to bring it into the country, including duty-free purchases.
- On local islands, cover shoulders and knees in villages and cafés, and use swimwear only on designated bikini beaches; resort islands follow relaxed international norms.
FAQ
Asked at the desk, answered here.
Do Indians need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is required. Indian passport holders receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival, provided they carry a passport valid for at least one month, a confirmed return ticket and a prepaid booking at a registered property. The only pre-travel step is the free Imuga Traveller Declaration, submitted online within 96 hours before your flight.
When is the best time to go?
November to April is the dry season, with calm seas and the clearest water for snorkelling; February and March are driest. May to October brings more rain and wind but lower demand, and it is the season when manta rays gather in Baa Atoll.
How many nights are enough?
Four to five nights suits most travellers from Hyderabad. Transfers take up part of the first and last day, so three nights on the island is the sensible minimum; a fifth night allows a second excursion or a slow day without moving.
Is it better for honeymooners or families?
Both, but on different islands. Honeymooners tend to prefer adults-only or quieter resorts with overwater villas and private dining; families do better on islands with beach villas, shallow lagoons, a kids' club and a speedboat transfer, which is simpler with young children than a seaplane.
