1. Santorini, Greece
Start with the caldera: whitewashed villages stacked above a drowned volcano, and sunsets in Oia that stop conversation mid-sentence. Sleep in a cave hotel carved into the cliff face, and end each day with Assyrtiko wine from vines that are older than the view.
2. Venice, Italy
Venice was built for two. Drift the smaller canals by gondola at golden hour, cross St. Mark's Square before the crowds arrive, then lose the map entirely — the best cicchetti bars and quietest bridges are the ones you find by accident.
3. Maldives
The Maldives is the honeymoon everyone pictures, and it earns it. Overwater bungalows with glass floors put the reef beneath your feet, a private sandbar dinner puts a whole island behind one table for two, and the house reef is a swim — not a boat ride — away.
4. Kyoto, Japan
Romance in Kyoto is quiet and deliberate. Check into a traditional ryokan, soak in an onsen as the evening cools, and walk temple gardens and bamboo groves that reward slowness. In cherry-blossom season, the Philosopher's Path may be the loveliest walk two people can take.
5. Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Bora Bora's lagoon is a color that doesn't photograph honestly — you have to see it. Take a helicopter ride over the lagoon and Mount Otemanu, snorkel with rays in water like glass, and come home each night to an overwater villa with the South Pacific for a floor.
6. Bali, Indonesia
Bali gives couples both halves of a great trip: mornings among Ubud's rice terraces and lake temples, afternoons in a couples spa ritual of flowers and warm oil, and dinners above the surf at Uluwatu as the fire dance begins.
7. Paris, France
Paris needs no introduction, but it rewards a plan. Cruise the Seine at dusk as the Eiffel Tower starts to sparkle, climb Montmartre for the whole city at your feet, and leave unhurried hours for patisseries and long café lunches — the real romance here is the pace.
8. Fiji
Fiji pairs castaway scenery with the warmest welcome in the Pacific. Renew your vows in a traditional Fijian couple ceremony, snorkel soft-coral reefs straight off the beach, and let a private island resort handle everything else — including the silence.
9. Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany is the slow honeymoon done right. Float over vineyards and hill towns in a hot-air balloon at dawn, stay at a family-run agriturismo where dinner comes from the farm outside your window, and drive cypress-lined roads with nowhere in particular to be.
10. Seychelles
The Seychelles feels designed for two people and a camera. Granite boulders frame Anse Source d'Argent — for many, the most beautiful beach on earth — island-hopping between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue takes a 15-minute flight or a short ferry ride, and giant tortoises outnumber the crowds.
